The nest, a greyish-brown papery structure, was eerily quiet, hinting that the wasps had yet to fully repopulate it for the season. Below, the usual insulation lay undisturbed, and electrical wires trailed like vines in an urban jungle, thankfully untouched by the winged invaders.
