Wasp Season Kicks Off in North Cave

“Wasp!”

It’s that time of year again – wasp season has officially begun! Here at Brough Pest Control, we’ve already tackled our first nest of the season, and we wanted to share our experience with you.

First Wasp Nest of the Season

Our first call came from a concerned client in North Cave, East Riding. Her roofer, who was working on replacing the lead flashing, discovered the activity. Noticing the potential danger, he promptly informed her, and she called us for help. The entry point for these little invaders was cleverly hidden under the edge of the roof tiles near the guttering. Given the location, it wasn’t surprising that the nest wasn’t visible from inside the loft area.

The Challenge

Therefore to effectively deal with the nest, we had to get creative. Using ladders, we carefully climbed up to the eye level of the entry point. This allowed us to apply our treatment powder directly into the area where they were entering.

The Wasp Solution

The treatment powder worked its magic quickly. Almost immediately, it caused a backup of wasps trying to return to their nest but were deterred by the treatment. Within 24 hours, they had dispersed enough for the roofer to safely resume his repairs.
